Smarter Sense was founded by Brad Rauer, a lifelong entrepreneur whose journey from humble beginnings to leading billion-dollar enterprises taught him the lessons that schools rarely cover — lessons about work, resilience, and making sound decisions in life and business.
Raised on a working farm, Brad learned early that success is built on effort, adaptability, and grit. He supported himself as a construction contractor and went on to build and manage a range of businesses, including a real estate company, a maple syrup venture, a brew pub, and even a commercial hot-air balloon operation.
His career eventually led him into the logistics industry, where he started as a dispatcher and rose to become the owner of a thriving company. Under his leadership, the business grew through several mergers into a billion-dollar enterprise. Along the way, Brad became a mentor to aspiring entrepreneurs and a volunteer business instructor at a Canadian university — experiences that reinforced his belief that essential life skills aren’t being taught anywhere.
